Are you a victim of circumstances? Are you one of the many battered youths in our society globally today, having slim hope of survival? Combat with many strong adversities such as pathological lies from the pit of hell, deceit as a result of degrading society values, unrealistic passion through advertising and the media, obsessive entanglement by cult and occultism, just mention a few. And great fear grip every heart about the shattered dreams of this youths and how your promising future sinks into obscurity? There is still hope of succeeding in this evil generation. How?

  • As a youth, realize that you did not come to this world by accident. God discerned you and brought you to this planet for a purpose.( “Jer 1:1-5. The words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, one of the priests at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin. The word of the Lord came to him in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and through the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, down to the fifth month of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, when the people of Jerusalem went into exile. The word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
  • Before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.")

  • Accept the challenges that there are opposers, forces, whose master is Satan that are doing everything to make sure that you miss God’s purposes over your life. ( 1 Peter 5:8. Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. )
  • Seek the Lord now to discover your purpose for living, by establishing a love relationship with Him through Jesus Christ: How? By confessing your sinful acts to him, ask him to forgive you all your sins and He should come into your heart to dwell. (Rev. 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. And Jeremiah 29:11-13.)
  • For your life to be meaningful, purposeful and fulfilling, commit it to Jesus Christ through daily prayers, spending time in reading and studying God’s word- the Bible. (Joshua 1:8. Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful  to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Hebrews 4:12. For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart).
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to purge you of some habits that have enslaved you, and be determined to live and dedicate yourself for a holy living.
  • Flee youthful lust- the lust of the flesh and the lost of the eyes. E.g immoral films, (blue films), war films, sexual literatures, drug abuse, smoking and such must be avoided.
  • Do not make unbelievers your close friends. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers but rather come out of them. (2 Corth. 6:14.Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?)
  • Don’t choose a non Christian as a spouse.
  • Parents must accept their responsibilities to these young ones.
  • The church must assist by organising programmes and vocations to meet the needs of the youths.
  • Fight the opposer-the enemies of your destiny on a daily basis through prayer. ( 1 Peter 5:8-9. Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in faith, because you know that your brothers through the world are undergoing same kind of suffering). As you continue to practice these daily, the word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit will remould your life.

  • Have you been struggling with sin or being enslaved by some habits? God can give you victory over them as you prayerfully go through the points below.
VICTORY OVER SIN. Romans 6: 1-23
To be delivered from sin means having liberty over sin, to be saved from the power of sin and to have freedom from the bondage (slavery) of sin.
    TWO TYPES OF SIN

  • Adamic sin (Sins committed before been born again Rom. 3:23. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 6:23. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord)
  • Specific sin (Sins committed after been born again. 1 John 1:8. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
  • But Jesus Christ is the only source of deliverance in any case. Matthew 1:21. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. 1 Timothy 1:15. Here is a trust worthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners- of whom I am the worst. John 8:32-36
To be delivered or saved from adamic sin the following steps are necessary.

    • Accept that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Isaiah 53:6. We all, like sheep , have gone astray , each of us has turn to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.)
    • You cannot save yourself- (Isaiah 64:6, Jer. 17:9, Gal. 3:10-13. All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the book of the law. Clearly no-one is justified before God by the law, because, “the righteous will live by faith”. The law is based on faith; on the contrary, “the man who does these things will live by them”. James 2:10. For whosoever keeps the whole law yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all.)
    • Accept Jesus death on the cross as the only means of setting you free from your sins. (Gal. 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”1 Peter 2:24. He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds we have been healed).
    • Confess your sin. (Act 2:37-38: When the people heard this, they were caught to the heart and said to peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do? Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized everyone of you  in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 17:13. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands everyone to repent.)
    • Invite Jesus into your heart. (Rev. 3:20. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me. Rom. 10:13. For, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.)
    • Thank Him for coming in.
If you do this with all sincerity of heart you will be set free or delivered from your sin and you will become a child of Gd. (Born again) (John 1:12. Yet to all who received him, to all who believed in His name, he gave the right to be children of God. 1John 1:18. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and th truth is not in us.)

DELIVERANCE FROM SECIFIC SINS. 1 John 2:1-2. My dear children I will write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have one who speaks to the father in our defence- Jesus Christ, the righteous one. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sin, and not only for our but also for the sins of the whole world.
After becoming a child of God, Satan our old master will still want us to be loyal to him by doing his will, committing sins. He does this by using his tricks to make us to displease our master and Lord Jesus by bringing sin into our hearts. His aim is very bad. (John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. 1 Peter 5:8-9. Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.)

    STEPS TO TAKE

  • Confess and forsake any known sin committed. ( Pro. 28:13. He who conceals his sin does not prosper, but whoever confess and renounce them finds mercy. 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.)
  • If repeated apply prayer and fasting
  • If persisted- call on others who are more experienced believers to help you in counselling and prayers. (James 5:14. Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.)
  •             Examples of such habitual sins are
Sexual sins (like fornication, adultery and masturbation), smoking, drinking of alcohol, stealing, lying and other ungodly behaviours.
Conclusion: Remember that all these are the works of the devil. And for this reason the son of God was manifest to destroy the works of the devil in your life. (1 John 3:5. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin). God bless you.

    YOUTHS AND PRE-MARITAL SEX

  • DEFINITIONS
  • are young fellows between the ages of 19 and 40 years.
  • PRE-MARITAL SEX is the sexual relationship between two opposite sex before or without marriage or sexual relationship (intercourse) between two people that are yet to be officially joined together even though they may plan to wed in future.

  • What does the bible teach on pre-marital sex?
  • (Heb 13:4. Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral)-Bed defiling can be taken as pre-marital sex. Eccl 11:9. Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment. (1 Cor 7:1-2
Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband,
vs36. If anyone thinks he is acting improperly toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if she is getting along in years and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married.)
The word of God encourages us to get married instead of getting ourselves engaged in pre-marital sex relationship. God will punish sin in our lives.

Suggested response to ungodly terms guys use to lure the opposite sex into sexual sins.

  • To gain girls sympathy: “Nobody loves me”
  • Answer: God loves you more than any other person. The reason why Jesus had to die for your sins is love. (John 3:16. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.)

  • To win the love of other spouse or girl friend: “My wife doesn’t understand me with all I have done to satisfy her.
  • Answer: Take time to find out why she doesn’t and talk things over with prayers. How are you sure that if you pick another person the same thing will not happen?

  • Deception to sin: “Aren’t you lucky, you are the most fortunate person in the world to go out with me, for me to have talked to, proposed to? Look, this and that lady wanted me to propose to them but I refused”.
  • Answer: Thank you, you can go ahead with those ones who are ready to live immoral life with you. I am a child of god and it is a sin to corrupt myself.

  • To justify their sinful life: “Everybody is doing it now. It is a common thing in the society. ”
  • Answer: Everybody is doing it. It is because you and some others are doing it that makes you conclude so. I am not doing it.

  • To justify pre-marital sex: “You know we are going to get married later any-way, so why don’t we do it”.
  • Answer: Many do it, and don’t get married.

  • To encourage boldness to commit sin: “Don’t be afraid, come on loosen up a little.”
  • Answer: Why won’t I be afraid to get involved in what will ruin my future, to sin against God and later face the consequences of sin here on earth and eternity?

  • Sinful compromise to show gratitude: “Won’t you show a little gratitude to all I have spent on you or done for you.”
  • Answer:  I am sorry, we didn’t bargain for a sin as gratification for helping me. God will reward you for all you have done for me. Amen
